They aren't loosing money *yet*

But that's because every sport negotiates their tv contracts over long time periods, not monthly. The NFL has not renegotiated their tv deals in the last year, hence they haven't lost any money from loosing tv customers. Yet.

But you're being willfully ignorant if you believe that a 20% demand decrease will play absolutely no role in the next negotiating round.

Spot on!! All of these networks will now have the upper hand in negotiations. Why would they pay the NFL more for a product that is declining? They have the leverage to save money and pay less for the NFL. That's why you can bet your arse, that behind closed doors, these owners are pissed at these protest. They know that if the trend continues, they are going to eventually cost them money. The irony is that these players don't realize that it will cost them future money as well. If the owners lose money....so will the players! Keep biting the hands that feeds you NFL.

They won't lose money. You believe 14 MLB owners lost money last year?

IRC, the NFL PROMISES a certain level of viewership for the advertising dollars and last year it fell below the quota. I think the NFL actually had to pay back some of the ad revenue, but I could be wrong.
