No I get it. Speaking freely doesn't give you immunity against social or employment related consequences. Which is why I'm fine with the idea that owners can do what they need to do.
However, when the POTUS creates a narrative of retaliation against peaceful protest, doesn't it send a message against the concept of free speech ?

No.
It reinforces the notion that free speech can have consequences. Otherwise, there is no truly free speech at all.
