With Stoops not wanting to turn his back on Oklahoma, did he pull a Meyer, and retire...we hire Oeaux as a two year 'interim' then bring Stoops in? I could see it happening.

Stoops would destroy teams with LSU talent.

Always good to hire a 60 year old retired coach to bring your football team back to national prominence

Stoops had more talent and Heisman winners in nearly two decades at OU than most teams in recent history. And he won a lot of Big12 titles, in a weak conference with optional defensive play.

And he had one National Championship win. In his second year. So his last 15+ years at one of the premier college football schools, with ridiculous talent, recruiting, financial support and resources, Stoops won zero Nattys. Zero.

Sure, he breezed through a weak and overrated conference to make his way to national title games. But what did he do when his teams got there? Remember our Tigers embarrassing OU's prolific "unstoppable" offense? And it only got worse for them when USC amd Florida raped their nostrils.

Stoops was a good coach. But, not as good as he's been made out to be.
