The dialogue and acting is laugh out loud bad, mainly because the Hmong(sp?) actors are ridiculous. It's a pretty terrible movie, and probably the first one where I started to think Eastwood was seriously overrated as director. frick the downvotes.

This movie reinforced my thought that you insult your friends harsher than anyone because you love them.

It taught me multiple new derogatory words so that along makes it at least a B+ movie.

I think it's a decent to pretty good example of the "grouchy curmudgeon with a heart of gold helps neighbors, dispenses oldster wisdom, and is rejuvenated " storyline. Maybe a touch better than St. Vincent. I was always kind of partial to Secondhand Lions which is almost in that genre.

Came across a book that my wife read for her book club titled A Man Called Ove which is a pretty good read and which I think they made a movie of. I haven't seen the movie though. I think it's Swedish.
