What year can we compete for a title?

2018 the defense will be nasty. We will potentially a great QB in Brennan or Narcisse(or both). That should offset the lack of running back depth.

If we had landed either Cam Akers or TE - I would think we'd be a competitor in 2018.

However, we have to prove we can even hang in the SEC at this point. Baby steps - crawl, walk, run.

Recruiting will take a dip this year and a bigger one next. Once Alleva is let go and O is canned after the 2018 season, the new coach will not have as much stacked talent as is on the team right now. It will take at least two years and recruiting cycles to fully stock up the team on talent and install the new regime. 2021 is the earliest that LSU will be relevant again.
