Miss St and Cowbell Tradition

It doesn't seem like this is being discussed much - hopefully this isn't a thread about a German beating a dead horse...
So this is probably a bit of sour grapes, but how are cowbells not seen as a clear competitive advantage favoring only Mississippi State? It seemed to be out of control last night during our game.
I get that there's a clause allowing it: SEC Clarifies Cowbell Compromise.
In that clause, there is the following statement:
This rule has no penalty that I can find associated with it, and the last fine appears to have been charged in 2010, before the amendment was put in place. To me, that rule appears to be completely unenforceable, and it was evident last night.
Miss St has a page dedicated to their "tradition" ( The Cowbell), on which they have a dead link to https://www.respectthebell.com/. From that, I'm guessing they're not too concerned with enforcing it either.
Is this something that the SEC just gave up on? Claiming something is a tradition shouldn't make it immune to restriction. If that's not the case, then I'd like to propose we start up a few new traditions:
1. Airhorns when we play Mississippi State
2. Tiger mascot allowed to roam free in the visitor's section
3. Piss balloon catapults for Auburn games
4. Bourbon allowed in all home games
5. All refs for Bama games to be selected from the LSU crowd before the game

I thought that the rule states they aren't allowed to ring the damned things once the QB goes under center.

We never worried about it until we got our asses handed to us.

It could be enforced if the NCAA tells them to stop them from bringing them in. Besides maybe a case can be presented as it can be used as a weapon in an altercation. Make it smaller and the noise won't be that intense. Someone must feel sorry for the Miss St fans to allow them.

They won't even play Neck and this is what you want? How about an AD with a pair that stops caving to pressure whether that pressure is to hire the "local" i.e. Jones and Orgeron or the pressure that he folded under with that bullshite that Florida pulled last year.

You want to silence the cow bells? Know how to do that? Whup that arse on the fooball field. Cowbell problem solved.

Admittedly, there was a lot of hyperbole in that list
I was just re-watching the game for a bit, and the bells were being rung throughout the entire play, clearly violating this exception: except from the time the offensive center is over the football until the play is whistled dead.
My point is, this rule as designed cannot be enforced. They should either drop it for all teams, or add an actual penalty to breaking it (flags, fines, etc.).

I could also argue that it was allowed because they were not all that relevant at the time. Now that they obviously have a good coach in place, as well as good players, why should they have an advantage that no other team can have?

We lost no excuses. That said, I felt like you could often hear the bells throughout the play.
What would likely work is if the ref would first throw a warning flag, then begin penalty flags. If opponents began ringing bells, and causing penalties on Miss State, then the bells would go.

Under the previous rule, the policy allowed fans to ring a cowbell before the game, at halftime, between quarters, during timeouts, after scoring plays, and during possession changes.
This shite is totally out of control. Cowbells got to go.

So they need them? Let them have them. Just as long as Sting Ray stays off the field of play.

That's what I thought at first as well, but I'm thinking that would most likely result in 1 of 2 things:
1. Rule is over-enforced, causing Miss St to lose games because of a minority of bad fans
2. Rule is under-enforced, resulting in the same outcome we have now
It seems like fining the school was the better way to go. If the fans don't care, it affects the school's athletic budget. It needs to be an amount significant enough that the school will actually care to enforce it (see the SEC rules over rushing the field after big wins, which did significantly cut that down because the schools stepped up to enforce it 250k fine)

Get over the cow bell thing. We had our asses kicked.

As long as we're not relevant, the NCAA looks the other way.

The grapes are very sour indeed.
We lost. Just accept and move on. Hopefully we can continue our usual domination of State next year, but this was their year.

Let's start with competing for the SEC again, and we can go from there.

Nope. The bells mostly stopped when LSU got to the line. Calling BS on the OP.

Time for LSU to start a Vuvuzela tradition but only when we play MSU.
