According to our governments assessment
assessing Russian activities and intentions in recent elections
The breach took place in July 2015 (page 12)
Trump didn't announce his presidential campaign until July 15th, 2015
The report also goes on to say...
So Russia didn't do this because they are colluding with Trump. They would have planned this well before anyone really believed Trump would be the candidate. Russia did this because like everyone else they hate that bitch Hillary

I get what you are trying to say, but this doesn't mean its impossible there was communication ahead of Trump's official announcement.
I dont think there was any at all, personally. But logically the hack being in 2015 doesnt completely remove all scenarios where russia/trump communicated regarding the hack.

That's if you believe the Russian narrative. I don't. I still think it was an insider that was (at least secretly) a Bernie idealist who saw how he was being railroaded by the DNC leadership and decided to do something about it.
For me it's a bit of Occam's Razor and this is the simpler explanation when you consider the DNC's resistance to allowing the Feds access to their servers to prove hacking.

There were two separate hacks of DNC systems, the first in summer 2015 by APT29/CozyBear that is associated with Russian FSB. The second hack was in March - April 2016 by APT28/Fancy Bear that is associated with the Russian GRU. It is this second group that set up the Guccifer 2.0 and DCLeaks attribution fronts and is believed to have forwarded the materials on to Wikileaks. The second group was also the same group that hacked the Clinton campaign and the DCCC.
