"We know nothing" ???? There's been drastic changes to the offensive philosophy and so far, the offense has executed these changes well. If not, this board would be going crazy. They need to re-watch the film. Or maybe watch the film for the first time.

Lol, Les just had the best 3 year stretch in LSU history as far as recruiting rankings.
Les was let go because the wins and losses didn't equal the talent. Now they don't have talent? You do realize 19 of the freshmen were committed to LSU when Les Miles was coach rt? Ed orgerons players start signing in February.

So, who was the recruiting coordinator last year again?

You still continue to confuse skill player talent with overall talent. Overall, Lsu has sucked in the trenches, and that is not arguable.

Yet when we beat them they will still say we haven't beat anyone.
You guys need to make up your mind. Either this is a "prove it" game and we've lowered standards, in which case it would be a big deal if we won, or this is a team we should beat and we're not going to get much credit for it.
Can't have it both ways where we should trounce these guys yet it's a really big deal to do it.

So either we go out there and show the last 3 games were not a fluke against an SEC opponent... and we've lowered the bar for CEO.
OR
We don't blow them out and CEO is a failure.
So only a blowout win reflects positively on CEO.

I didn't say that. Just win the game on the road. But winning it isn't some huge feather in the cap. If you think it is a huge feather in the cap then we've lowered standards here.
People want the win to mean as much positively as a loss would mean negatively and it never has worked like that, not for contending teams.

when you are the head coach they are ALL your players. Such a dumb statement that keeps getting regurgitated that they aren't your players

it isn't a 'feather in your cap' but it is a statement when you win on the road vs Mississippi St.

You're really taking Coach O getting hired very hard. 2016 must have been a really hard time for you.

What they should be saying "LSU has beat us with some of the worst football teams in NCAA history (see 90's), MSU has no chance."

In 2008, 2009 and 2011 we barely scraped by them.
LSU should win big and I expect it, but a couple of turnovers could make it close.

The last 3 years LSU is 14-10 in conference play; never higher than 3rd place in the West. By comparison, over the same 3 year span MSU is 13-11.
The last 5 years LSU is 25-15 in conference play with a 2nd place SECW finish (5 years ago).
Winning a conference game is not a lowering of standards.
Only here on the rant would winning a conference game be a lowering of standards, moving the bar, or goalposts on roller skates. And we all know why that mentality exists.
A lowering of standards is saying oh well, win some lose some or tolerating being, at best, the 6th best team in a 14 team league.

Aw, thanks buddy. Your empathy is appreciated.
You're right though. How dare I have a problem with cronyism?

November 2015-2016 was a hard time for any LSU football fan with any common sense. Alleva and the BOS have taken the biggest fricking gamble I have ever seen for a major power 5 program. Any hire is a gamble, but this one is about a 100-1 shot for LSU acceptable success based on resume.
Anyone not concerned as to how this is going to play out, has got to be on mind altering drugs.

quote:I'm not onboard with this, as a team can attempt to be balanced in playcalls, but suck at one phase or the other and skew your production metric.
Balance is in production, not in playcalling:
Balanced production isn't really balanced playcalling. If a pass heavy dink and dunk team rushes 15/50 plays for 150yds, it doesn't necessarily mean opponents would sell out for run when calls are predominantly pass.
You don't get the production figure until the end of the game anyway, and a team with a lead could switch from 5/30 R/P to 30/5 R/P 2nd half and never be balanced at all, so it's more about mix of calls during series, imo.
Feel free to counter, as it's an interesting take on balance.

This is exactly how the anti miles contingent felt in 2005.
