I've never had a favorite women's tennis player.

I do now.
LINK
Reporter: Does winning make you want to win more?
Stephens: Girl did you see that check they handed me? If that doesnt make you want to play tennis I don't know what will.
Reporter: Do you feel bad for your opponent?
Stephens: She was in the finals too. Did you see the check she got? She'll be fine.
Love it. Success should be rewarded and these lesbian butch tennis reporters were trying to make her feel bad.

Sloane Stephens
However, my favorite tennis player is Eugenie Bouchard, and not so much for her on the court talents.

Sloane is the face of tennis we need. Serena is what we deserve.

She sounds like my inner monologue would sound.
Boss: We really appreciate your work this year, here's your bonus because we believe in taking care of people
Me (out loud): Well sir I'm just happy to be on such a good team, I really value working here and I'm glad we were successful.
Me (in my head): frick yeah, if the project had crashed and burned but I'd still got this money, my personal feels wouldn't have changed. frick your company, y'all would lay me off in a second if the stock dropped. We're even.

Her win over Venus Williams was so inspiring and good that I legit stopped watching the Patriots / Chiefs game to enjoy.
Usually in tennis, when unseeded and younger players get in a position like that to defeat a legend, they choke. As a college tennis player, I know that I always choked in spots like that. I didn't have it at 16, 18, or 20. I think I might have it now (when it's irrelevant), but I didn't have it back then.
She got a lead, Venus stepped up her game and played the best tennis she has played in a while... and instead of folding, Sloane was a badass and hit about 10 amazing shots in a sequence of 4 points that was just jawdropping. She became a champion and I bet she'll win a lot more now.

Tom Brady, did you feel bad for winning the super bowl? I mean, that means the other team lost. Their feelings.....

Another reason to like her:
For those that don't know, her deceased dad is a NW La guy and football legend. NFL rookie of the year in the mid 80's.
