Well, if Chavis never leaves, we probably never get Coach O. And even if we do, I still don't think we keep him after we let Miles go.

It was still obviously a mistake on Chavis' part to leave, at least for A&M. His defenses at LSU did well in part because Miles' plodding offenses often dominated time of possession. He should have known that downgrading to A&M's talent AND having to cover for Sumlin's "fail early, fail often" offense was not a recipe for success.

That's a huge assumption. Chavis had basically quit recruiting from what I read, I doubt O keeps a DC who isn't recruiting.
