Yet these same people oppose any sort of alternative programs to allow people to teach in schools.
When I retire (likely in 10 years when I turn 62) I would have 40 years of real-world accounting experience (OK, maybe not "real world" since I work for the Feds, but you get the point). However, because I don't have a teacher's degree, I couldn't teach business classes in a local school district.

Really? I figured you could so long as you took the Praxis or whatever it is.
