Some names that are floating around:

Bernie Sanders
Joe Biden

Not a single one of those candidate could mount a serious threat. Sanders could bring the most excitement but just wouldn't be able to bring out enough of the minority or crossover votes to be a serious candidate.

If they would run Sarah Silverman, they would win the White House fer sure. A combination of beauty, talent, a solid knowledge of history, a strong, positive message, and general gravitas.

Patrick Duval is the hot name right now. Obama and Jarrett are probably going to back Duval in 2020. The only thing that can stop that is if Biden ran. The question becomes who will the Clintons support and I believe either a Castro or Harris would become their likely stalking horse.
2020 is going to be about the Clinton/Obama proxy war for control of the party.

If they were smart, they would go with Van Jones. He would resonate on a couple of subliminal levels that would be effective on the liberal base. First, he's black, and they would think he's Obama. Second, unlike Obama, Van Jones is a proud, self-declared Communist. Obama, tho Communist, didn't have the personal strength to "come out of the closet" ( in more ways than one). Van Jones will help them all "come out of the closet" and wave that red and yellow flag proudly!

I think Michelle could make some waves. The rest probably couldn't raise Bernie/HRC type money but considering Obama was the second coming of black Jesus, Michelle would get a lot of help.

I imagine she smells like gas station burritos and bong water

I disagree, Van Jones has way too much baggage with him. There is a militant streak that is inside him that will turn off voters even in the Democratic Party.
Ranking by Best Chances to beat Trump Head Up
1. Joe Biden
2. Patrick Duval
3. Sherrod Brown
Brown is the one guy that's problematic because he's really popular in Ohio. Thinking he or Biden would be very formidable in the Midwest. Thing about Brown is he's probably the closest thing to Bernie without the cuckoo factor. I don't think Biden will jump in the race. Brown and Duval are the ones I would be worried about the most.

Either that or a shithouse door on a tuna boat.

I believe Michelle Obama hate the 8 years she lived in the WH. I can't see her willingly go back.

Won't take much to beat a dead man or somebody sitting in prison.

George Clooney. Here's why:
The Dems need a candidate who appears to be a political outsider so they can ride the current wave of disenfranchisement. They want a minority, and if you squint, Clooney looks Latin-ish. And of course they need a candidate who inspires confidence, and that's the only character Clooney knows how to play.
