I love the old Basement on 8th Street. The bands are fresh, and you can buy them a beer at the bar when they come off stage. It is nit the slightest bit touristy.

Are there any similar places in Nashvillle? I'm headed up there in a couple of weeks.

The End off Elliston place is very small and divey. Great place to hear local underground stuff.

Exit In, also off Elliston, is a bigger venue, but has an intimate vibe. You've may have already heard of it. It's been there since like 1970 and has hosted hundreds of famous musicians.

There are also some good little spots in East Nashville, such as the Family Wash.

The End and Family Wash were the first venues that came to mind for me as well. There's also a Basement East on Woodland right down the street from Five Points. It's a little bigger, but not touristy.

Basement East is my favorite place in the city.

Most of the best places are in East Nashville, unless you want to go somewhere like Marathon or Cannery/Mercy Lounge.

Another place I love is 3rd and Lindsley. They mostly do country artists, but its a nice small, intimate place.

Used to hit up 328 performance hall on 4th Ave south in the late 90's...don't think it's there anymore though.

Good to hear. Going to see Kitchen Dwellers and Horeshoes & Handgrenades at 3rd and Lindsey it a month.

Two high energy bluegrass bands so a small venue should be awesome!

Cobra! My wife's sisters bf bought that from Ernie's estate.

He's the big tatted dude serving drinks every night.

Love what he's done with the place

Springwater

Man, I've had some crazy times in that place.

I stumbled into Karaoke night once and it was like a Terrantino film. Also good call on the Springwater. Good place to rub elbows with some Bluegrass ninjas.
