Equifax advertisement "You'll feel safer with Equifax. We're the leading provider of data breach services, serving more than 500 organizations with security breach events everyday"
"Hackers have stolen the personal details of 143 million people, including their names, social security numbers, birth dates, and home addresses"
The company revealed that hackers broke into its servers in mid May and went undetected until July. The cybercriminals also stole some driver's license numbers, and around 209,000 credit card numbers, according to the company's release, which was posted on a custom website called "equifaxsecurity2017.com".
Thanks Equifax we have all been waiting to give our confidential data out so we can become victims of identity theft.
This also means that we can all expect new credit cards in the mail again very soon!

Today, it's not a matter of if your identity will be stolen, it's a matter of when it will be stolen.

There is a link in the article where you can put in your last name and last 6 of your ssn to see if you were impacted by the breach.

How nice. I always wanted to be a 5'0 man from Guatemala.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't see where that domain is owned by Equifax or at least its registration details are kept private. I'm not giving them my last 6 #s and my last name

Because the numbers will far exceed 9999 people with the last name of Smith or Jones.

I'm sure it's probably legit. I'm just paranoid about stuff like that.

All good man, it's covered in the budget. Plus, it could be worse. You could have a Yahoo email.

Great. I'm sure they'll require a mountain of paperwork and years off your life to clean up your credit with them due to their breach.

lots of people affected. That's thebrussians the Dems should be hunting.
Posted on 9/7/17 at 5:57 pm to ihometiger
