I'm agreeing with you. The blight removal works. But only if done in conjunction with active policing.

There is neither the support or the budget for either. We have a $300,000 code enf. Budget. Compare that with NO at $5-6 million. Compounding the problem is all of the flood related blight. A lot of these issues get tied up in court or have to be researched to locate owners, etc.

And as far as policing goes we need another 50-60 officers out there which isn't going to happen without better pay and a mayor that actually appreciates the need for pro-active policing.

This leads to crime reduction. You know what else it leads to? It leads to making contact with criminals, which leads to confrontations, which leads to shootings. Won't be allowed.
