How about the ability to sustain drives by converting on 3rd and 5-10 yds!

I think it was Dellenger who retweeted someone who said LSU only coverted 4 first downs through the air when they had 7-9 yards to go in all of 2016.

We did it twice in the 1stQ on Saturday.

There's a definite progression in the terminology.

First, the center and guards leave the huddle. Then the wideouts. The tackles seemed to leave just before the QB/and runners/blockers/other eligible receivers.

I kinda dig the determination. That was solely based on one opponent, but I like the decisiveness of the play calling. Amd once the players lined up, there was just enough time for a shift or two before the snap. It really didn't give BYU any time to get a good read on what was coming.

Give it time. Looks like this offense can be great once everyone has settled into it fully. Something else that I haven't seen discussed much is that Guice didn't look 100%. Nowhere near it, actually. Once he gets there, this thing will blow wide open.

Every possession, it felt like the offense was on the field forever, and not the defense. When was the last time that happened, even against a subpar team?

what the difference in our offense last week was. When we called a play, we ran it. We didn't line up, stop, look to the sidelines like an idiot, then run a toss. Perhaps that the best things about a lot of motion; there is no time for screwing around.

If our offense can keep our Defense off the field and rested like that consistently...holy shite watch out.
That is the key. That's what made 2013 the most offensively productive year in LSU history.

Speaking of 2013... yeah, I know not enough data yet but I'm comparing anyway since it's relevant to the subject at hand:

Plays/gm: 2013= 65.3 vsBYU= 75
Yds/play: 2013= 6.94 vsBYU= 6.4
Penalties: 2013= 6.92/56.3 vsBYU= 10/86

I'm drawing no other conclusions, long or short range. than:
A) yep, penalties are a problem
B) it was indeed an offensively productive game, no matter the run/pass ratio.

Yeah, we ran alot. It was nice to see it. Why? we were running into 6 & 7 man fronts. How long has it been since that?

Dude Les Miles made LSU football miserable to watch the last few years with his Stone Age offense. People are starved for just some signs of creativity and I'm one of those people. God bless Canada for delivering it.

We get it. You didn't like the previous offense. That's understandable. Don't invent extra reasons, though.

A very odd response, the OP was on target with his observation in that the offense did not look confused and disoriented.

This offense does not telegraph the next play and if we pass more I think we will be a team to beat.

The previous staffs play calling which matched the OP's version did look quirky and to me the players got lost in the flow of the game very similar to a batter in the batter box not taking waggles in the batter box getting into the flow of the pitch.

We will improve and I am excited about the future of this offense.

3 holding calls 2 false starts 2 illegal shifts 1 delay of game penalty It's tell the troof Monday guys, let's not act like we were perfect

Okay I'll tell the truth. LSU punted one time. Over the last 11 years we've seen repeatedly no continuity in the offense resulting in costly penalties that killed drives.
