That makes no sense. Why should digging a ditch be of a higher value in society than creating Apple?
Well are we talking about value or compensation? Obviously, the value that an invention or idea can create for consumers is far greater in both scope and intensity than digging a ditch but the original post referenced "hard work" specifically. Very few would argue that digging ditches everyday is easier than coming up with an original idea that gets you paid for the rest of your life.
Yes, Im aware that coming up with an original idea is far less common than the ability to dig a ditch and that is why in the real world economy its compensated better. Pay scale also works off the same principals of supply and demand that the free market does. I was simply making the point that in a perfect world it wouldnt and shouldnt be.
All that said Im libertarian and a Friedman kind of guy so Im not disagreeing with you, necessarily.

Cops should have a counter protest and peacefully kill a bunch of black people as a sign of civil disobedience.

Why do people think football players are overpaid? The owners have a right to pay them less if they don't think the players are worth what they offer.
What is league minimum in 2017 to play a kids game again?

A "kids" game that is primarily consumed by adults and generates how much revenue?

Allowing someone to express their views, even if that speech is viewed by others as "anti-American" is a VERY AMERICAN thing to do.
You know what's UN-AMERICAN? Taking our tax dollars hand over fist, then disrespecting us after

Athletes are paid to be walking billboards for organizations to sell their products to marks. They're lucky slave owners wanted to breed for better physical athletic genetics.
Now people like LeBron are made to feel so important because they're good at putting a basketball in a hoop..and shoe companies, soft drinks, etc get involved.

Are you a grown man that wears a Jersey?

What does my ability to realize that when you generate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of entertainment you make a bunch of money have to do with my wardrobe choice?
FWIW I would never wear a jersey. That's totally NF.

It's not just athletics, I guess my point is..
It's so sad that so much money or "value" is put into entertainment. We are all just in a waiting room waiting to die, paying so much to keep our minds off the fact that one day the sun will become a red giant, and everything we ever were, Will be less than ash.

From a philosophical perspective, sure. Real economics dictate that if you have a special talent that generates revenue, then you get paid a bunch of money.

Seems like a herding distraction. Put in every child's mind to be a Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, or Dwayne Johnson.
And that's the thing I guess as you get older, as a kid..it's not to be rich, it's just to be great. When a kids game is turned into such a business..it's sad in a way. I understand it and know many outside parties are involved.
It just becomes what everything becomes. I often wonder if 2/3 of the population disappeared overnight how the world would react with such a drastic population shift.

The OT constitution must start with the 2nd amendment. Talk about guns and it's your right to have whatever you want,
Nope! What you can have is regulated.
More importantly is guns are not allowed in some areas as dictated by the owners.

mention free speech and all of a sudden the NFL should take away their players rights.
Just as the carrying of guns is regulated by the owners of the property so is free speech.
Don't think so? Just scream FIRE in a crowed arena.

It's mind blowing how short sighted some of you are.
It's mind blowing how ignorant you are.
My point is... Your expectation is that you should be able to own any gun you'd like. Yet someone kneeling during the national anthem and expressing their first amendment rights, is a travesty. My grandfathers fought for the right of every American to speak freely.
I'm the ignorant one, yet you are comparing a harmless rightful action to causing a complete panic.

And the cops response is spot on. Your move..
I am not sure that it is without clarification.

What is this very representation of what they stand for? Now they absolutely have the right to refuse to participate. I support that right. But specifically, what are they stating they stand for in the above statement?

I think some are doing it because people don't know their names. Colin got press, and those who keeled with him did. Doesn't matter good or bad. If people are pointing cameras at you, this is the goal.
It's becoming an attention tactic.

Logic:
These cops are butt hurt whiner melters
But the kneelers aren't butt hurt whiners?

It's the utmost of irony these black players disrespect the country that allows for them to pursue their dreams and make millions playing a sport. So much oppression....
