Still, I would rather have a well paid diplomat addressing problems than a soldier!

the highest paid government employees make about 150k senior level bureaucrats are capped at 130k.
the only gubberment employees making substantially more than that would be senior level medical doctors in the VA and CDC at just less than 400k but those same doctors would be making twice that or more in private practice.
i don't know how much of a diplomat you're gonna get for 150k!
what's funny is that you think that's well paid i'm sure it is for you.
