basically if you're a good Christian, God is going to reward you with money, the right job, no problems in your life..........

What's wrong with believing that God will reward you with a good job and money? You work hard and do the right thing, how is it that good things should not happen to you?

Now, as far as no problems in your life....seriously??? Who would believe in that? We all have problems.

Likely wary of the violence, rape, and other issues at the Superdome during Hurricane Katrina, Houston officials have avoided using massive complexes like Lakewood to house victims. Simply put, as the Superdome demonstrated, it is simply too difficult to manage that many people in one place.

As I mentioned earlier, Osteen probably didn't want to deal with liability issues.

Because what you end up with is people, when going through rough times, believing it's because they aren't faithful enough, or not praying enough. Someone who would believe that their child is dying because they weren't a good enough Christian is horse shite and the exact opposite of the message of the Gospel. If you're only a believer because you're hoping to get a better paying job, there's really no genuine love of Jesus. Kind of like a trophy wife.

Because there is nothing in scripture, nor in Traditional teaching, that says anything of the sort. It's feel-good charlatanism. I think it's a reasonable thing to believe, but not on a religious basis.

In classical Christian theology, this was heresy. You worship God because you love Him. It is your job to do for Him, not the other way around.
