"This is such BS, LSU owes nothing. This was decided by ESPN so take your check and stop your crying! I was booked for the Houston game and now will make arrangements for this game."

Easy to do when you're coming from Houston or Louisiana, not when you're travelling form the West Coast, Midwest or East Coast like we are (with the exception of our Texas fans).

New Orleans isn't much different than houston in terms of distance.

I'm in Dallas and was planning to go to houston, but won't drive 8 hours to houston, and I'm sure others are in the same boat. It's not like LSU fans were affected by the change either.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess a lot of your fans in Texas and like you keep mentioning, Houston, are worried about more than a football game right now, just as much as our fans from the same areas.

To bitch about where this game is being played is a little out of context when you think about why it's being moved.

No BYU (and its national fanbase)= no $4 million offer for LSU to play in this game. ESPN most certainly cares in their investment. You're just a regional school anyways so what would y'all

Wait 1st you have a national fanbase then your fans all have to travel long distances. Which is it?

Yes BYU has a national fanbase because its a religious school, but obviously its not that big or it would have been invited into the Pac12. Instead they took Utah so that sink in for a minute. The expansion was based on TV market shares. Utah apparently was better than BYU.

For LSU this game served 2 purposes. 1st for recruiting Texas, 2nd its treated as an openning bowl game for donors. The LSU Alumni Association has package deals and brings in donors from around the country.

BYU is by far the worst team LSU has opened with in a neutral site game. This year I guess we got a big name scrub team which is nice considering our road schedule later in the season.

One last question. When was the last time BYU has played in a New Years day bowl?
