You literally still do not understand that alleva does not have the power to decide when and where this game is played. You literally can't comprehend that. Wow

Pimp, I love ya buddy. You're one of my favorite posters. But this time I have to at you for thinking Joe has any clue as to how to leverage ANYTHING.

I would not have allowed LSU to be painted the bad guy as they were without correcting the narrative.

Specifically how?

quote:

But to begin with I would have gotten LSU's position out there ahead of the issue. Call a press conference of ahead of time stating everything about the situation

How far ahead?

quote:

Say that LSU cannot and will not cancel a game on it's schedule for Florida and the SEC

How do you enforce this?

quote:

That we intend to play Florida on that weekend but we do not care where it may take place.

LSU controls all of Florida and all if its sports venues? LSU has the power to control the political apparatus of all of Florida including things like city police forces, county sheriff's offices, emergency response entities?

quote:

Put all of the eggs in Florida's basket. Then stick to it.

You just contradicted yourself. Does LSU or the University of Florida have the power to force the removal of the game to another venue and the local political subdivisions within the state of Florida?

quote:

The SEC had no power to force the issue yet he allowed Florida to play him.

Because it wasn't an SEC sanctioned event?

You sir with all respect are a blithering idiot. Your hatred of Alleva, like several others around here, has has robbed of what little intelligence you might have once possessed.

What is even funnier is that anybody here thinks that ESPN gives a shite about public opinion.

The Aleeva Palace Guard sure does get upset if you suggest to them that Joe does his job. I think there may still be a couple expletives I haven't been called or a couple of speculative insults of what hysterically angry posters think I do to support my family.

And it's just another example of this widespread bureaucratic, too-large-to -fail epidemic in this country. The people who make endless excuses for why extremely EASY decisions never get made. You guys are so paralyzed by the size of an organization that you immediately default to defending the status quo. Well the status quo, the actual history of Joe Aleeva when faced with a challege, has been to dabble around the edges of a problem until said problem overtakes him, and harms LSU. He is the guy that moves the paper on this side of his desk, to the new pile of paper on that side of the desk. His inaction has cost LSU dearly over the years. I'm sorry if that simple acknowledgement of fact annoys you.

I'm no huge supporter of Alleva but what the hell?? Based on reports it sure seems to me that the issue of moving the game is being met head on and moving at a perfectly reasonable pace. We may even have resolution by tomorrow by some accounts. Sorry, but I don't see where anyone should be catching heavy flack over this at this time.

LSU-BYU; 'several options,' including Superdome, weighed
The Superdome and NRG Stadium are both managed by SMG, a Philadelphia-based arena-management company.

So you're saying that the threat of public backlash can be effective in moving a challenge forward? Well then we agree.

If we get a specific venue announcement by tomorrow morning we will know adults intervened. If we get an announcement that an announcement will be made on Wednesday pending this or that than we will know that Aleeva is rearranging his sock drawer again instead of being the strongest advocate for LSU that it deserves.

Respectfully , you have your view and I have mine. I have very little confidence in Joe Aleeva and no confidence that he has the gravitas to make things happen that are in our best interest. I also can't stand this attitude that this things that now happen every year are too big to overcome and that we are somehow the eternal junior partner in every one of these negotiations.
