On the contrary, I'm stoked about this season. I love that the expectations are tempered but we still have young talent all over the place and some of the most creative coordinators in all of CFB. It's gonna be like Christmas morning as we open up this new present. Getting to watch Guice run the ball is excitement enough!

I'm not overly excited about football. But it may be because LSU baseball is my #1, and I've still got an Omaha hangover. I'm looking forward to Sept. 26 - first day of Fall practice.

What's not to be hyped about?

Sure we are young at a lot of positions but we are still very talented.

We will finally get actual change on offense.

Aranda is still our DC

Returning starters to be excited about:
Key
Guice
Clapp
Lacouture
Chark
JD Moore
Tolliver
Jackson

New starters to be hyped about:
Lawrence
White
Brumfield
Cushenberry
Alexander

Freshman to be hyped about:
Chaisson
Phillips
Taylor
Queen
Harris
Delpit
Stevens
Deculus
Brennan
Narcisse

While there will probably be a little but of a learning curve this year given all the starters we are replacing, it should still be a fun ride. I'm predicting either 9-3 or 10-2 on the year.

Plus the future looks bright!

We got Canada, Aranda, a new offense and a heisman candidate RB.

If you can't get excited about that, just turn in your fan card.

Sounds like you are a guy that chooses a Star Trek rerun over watching an LSU game.

I'm excited about the 2nd year under DA and Canadas offense but I don't expect a title. I really thought last year was ours.

Bama came to our house with freshman QB. We had the QB Les always wanted with Guice and Fournette in the backfield. A great Oline. Dural, Dupree and Chark. 2 studs at MLB with Beckwith and Duke. One of our best safeties ever in Jamal. An all American in Tre White and Arden Key coming off the edge. Couple that with the brightest Defensive mind in the country and I thought it was our year for sure.

Joe Alleva cost us the national title in '16 IMHO. If he would have fired Les then the list was

1. Jimbo (He wanted the job)
2. Herman (Texas wasn't available, He almost to the USCe job)
3. Fuente (LSU >>>> Va Tech)

We would have had our pick and I think anyone of them would have led us to a national title.

I will go to my grave saying that the following teams should have won it all

LSU FB '16
LSU Baseball '13
Saints '11
LSU Fooball '11

"On the contrary, I'm stoked about this season...."...

Well----it might not take long to see what we'll have....Let me know if that fire's still a'goin' after the 5th or 6th game....Hopefully it's a raging wildfire......

I'm looking forward to it, that's undeniably true. But, I don't get amped up like I did in my early to mid 20's. I guess intensity and emotions slowly subsides with aging. Not to mention, the seasons seem to fly by as you get older. I recall 15-20 years ago the season would seem to last longer.

You gonna get blasted , of course , but I sympathize with you. I'm normally amped up leading into the season and I'm not this year . It's entirely the Orgeron bullshite for me. I hate the way the whole thing came about and even more so I am annoyed and mentally exhausted by an identity politics type of fanbase.

It's takes some of the excitement out of it leading up to the season , but what we both need is just watching the team play. I think we have two of the best coordinators in the game and I truly am excited about those two guys and what this team will do as a result .

Returning QB and the best RB in the nation along with that Defense.

We just need some football.

I'm sick of the Orgeron shite.

We've been stuck with just regular season MLB baseball as the only sport for months. We have the best runningback in the nation and the best pass rusher. We have a ton of young talent ready to make a name for themselves and a new exciting offense to watch. Even if the season were to fall apart some I still am excited to watch every game. College football is the best sport in the world and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.
