My wife just marinated my ribeye in Italian dressing. I said that was some ghetto shite and washed it off. She mad.

Does anybody think it's a good idea to do this? My opinion is it's almost as bad as putting coke in good bourbon.

I've eaten plenty of steaks marinated in Italian. Doesn't bother me at all.

Tell your wife to come over to my place and she can marinate my meat with whatever she wants

The only people I see doing it are people who can't cook but think they can. Same type of people who use kitchen bouqet

Italian is decent, but not as good as a ketchup marinade.

...you know....

If you thinned catsup with a malbec and used it to marinate the steak, it probably wouldn't be that bad.

To clarify, I only use salt and only cook good steak over wood fire.

OK for Skirt, Flank, and other tougher cuts, but if it's a quality piece of Ribeye, Strip or Fillet, salt and pepper is all that should be used.

I used to poke them, then let them sit in the fridge with salt and pepper for a while. Then, straight from the fridge to the pan/grill. Didn't matter back then. We were always drunk or high or drunk and high.

Motherfrickers in here souls vide steaks for like 95 weeks so yeah Italian dressing marinade will get shite on.

That being said it sounds gross. I want my steak as dry as possible going on the grill not lubed up sign italian dressing.

If it is a prime steak or a good cut of meat, it does not need a marinade. If it is an inferior cut, I don't need to eat it anyway.

I see no problem. It's basically oil and herbs.
