Boston beginning efforts to change the name of a street behind Fenway

Tom Yawkey was owner and President of the Boston Red Sox for 44 years, the longest tenure owner/President of any in MLB history.
He was elected to the baseball hall of fame in 1980.
After his death in 1976, the city honored him by naming a small street behind Fenway park after him.
Of course... he's also apparently an evil, racist monster.
His crime? He happened to be the last owner to integrate his team. Yeah he integrated them... but he didn't do it soon enough!
As such, the street name has gotta go.

I thought the statues issue revolved around destroying some rich heritage passed down through the generations. I didn't realize Hawkey was part of that tapestry.
