I believe it. I was there a few months ago when a Calvin played and I believe it was $70 to get in. Skrillex, meanwhile, was only like $30 at surrender. Majority comes Fromm bottle service but I was surprised how many folks drank like fish at the bar. We're talking $10+ for basic beer and $20-30 for mixed drinks

They can easily clear over $1m a night. I've seen and been at a table where people can and are willing to spend minimal $20k easily. It all adds up quickly. They can cover DJ expenses off of a handful of tables. Then you add in $100 tickets just to get in. Sometimes that $100 is a bar card and you can still end up paying $2-300 more on drinks.

Calvin Harris is paid that kind of money because he is the most marketable face in the industry. Working with some of the most famous musicians on the planet and dating Taylor Swift brings serious attention, thus higher booking fees. Not that I agree with it personally, it's just where the music scene has gone.
In regards to working in Vegas, there are so many bars, clubs, and concert halls you can get hired at. A lot of the time you just need the right experience and an appealing resume to which after a little bit, you'll find your spot. I moved here after working for some of the biggest festivals in Florida and it still took me a solid year of networking before I was around the right people. But as always, it's all about who you know and being better than most at what you're aiming to do.
