Scrolling through Yahoo Sports this morning and I saw a headline about a BYU D-lineman that is 6'7" and 410 lbs. crushing their RBs during practice. Thinking it was click-bait, I went to their website to check the roster and damn, #60 sure is listed as being that big! Granted, he might have the conditioning and stamina of a drunk hippo and will only play a few snaps here/there, but good luck to Clapp/Cush/Brumfield when it comes to blocking that giant of a human.

Probably will play like the unicorn. Make a good play and then be gassed the rest of the game.

yeah he leveled that RB in practice with just his arm.

Bottom line dude is really tall. If you can block him man up all you have to do is cut block him and hes done for. Although that may stuff up 2-3 running lanes when hes down lol

I wonder how his stamina is

Sort of like LSU's unicorn in 2016, T. Valentine...then again, Terrance Cody from Bama was probably equally as heavy and few inches shorter and did pretty well on 1st/2nd downs plus on FG Def...

This isn't basketball. Big does not equal good. Chill out.

Cody was a better athlete than Valentine (although not a whole lot), plus Saban built their front 7 around him the time he was there. So, there's that.

And, I think the poster to whom you responded meant "TV" when he said "the unicorn," unless I'm mistaken.

Can somebody explain the "mission" listed on some players and not some?
I understand it is a religious mission, but for it to be listed on their site, is it school affiliated? Do all BYU students go on one?
These players are from the Kongo, Hawaii, Somoan Islands, etc., is why I question, are they actually Mormon?
If it is BYU regulated, when do they go? (Found some without a "mission" locale listed.

Island nations were historically one of the big places churches went as missionaries so it makes sense that there would be a decent population in those places that are mormon.

As far as I know, the mormons do a mission but the heathen students don't have to.

I've seen film of him. He's not very quick and there's no way his stamina will hold up.

Make him run sideline to sideline. Gassed after one series.

Not every player is Mormon, but according to a BYU poster the other day, every student agrees to the school's Honor Code. I don't know if the school regulates the missions, but with the school and church being so tied together, I'd imagine the school does have a lot of input. Also, don't think every player goes on a mission, since not all are Mormon.

Yes. He apparently has barely played any football in his life and if you watch the videos, doesn't do anything.

99% chance he doesn't see a snap against LSU.

Ah. Makes sense. I was aware they were made to sign the honor code as a pre req to attend BYU. Which is why BYU students are married much younger. I didn't think a school could mandate a mission trip. But the way it was listed, made it seem typical of each player.
These friggers are big. I don't care what anybody says about their talent, they are big.

Didn't they suspend a star basketball player a couple years ago because he slept with his fiancé?

Appears so.
This is no doubt why the get married quickly and so young. I wonder how their divorce rate is? (Mormons or BYU for that matter)
