It is very simple: Most Trump voters are NOT racist.
BUT...
Most white racists who voted, voted for Trump in 2016.
That was ONE factor that helped Trump win in 2016. Other factors included dislike for HRC, mistrust for the Clintons, and a small town-rural revolt in the Midwest against DC and coastal elites. Those are some of the reasons HRC lost the Electoral vote even though she won the popular vote.

And they voted for McCain and Romney as well. That's not a variable, that's a constant. Who gives a single frick about the constants that won't change no matter what you do?
The variables what is important. That's what you focus on. It's why you don't really see rallies out in Portland or Tulsa. It's pointless for the candidates to waste their time over there.
