Well if they can't at least the ones that are sent wouldn't be there for 30-40 years. Term limits along with totally revamping the system with things like lobbyist reform, etc. etc. would make things up there better.

Can't argue with that.

The Founding Fathers never intended there to be a permanent political class ruled by the wealthy.

I'm beginning to believe we could have just as good of representation if we drew names from a hat and if your name was drawn, off you go to serve for whatever length term that office has.

Someone please tell me what area of government someone like Debbie Dumber, or Maxine Waters, or any of the numerous useless idiots in Congress bring knowledge to the table?

We have term limits, it's called an election.

No, what we need is a straight repeal of the 17th Amendment to balance Congress once again.

How would that "balance" congress?

That's so stupid. The 17th amendment made the electoral process much more democratic.

Do you know what it was like before the 17th amendment? Insiders controlling the process and corruption everywhere.

Also, if it did happen, the results wouldn't be what I think you are suggesting.

So your answer to a government you don't like is more government action?

The real answer is repealing the 17th Amendment, not term limits.

Wrong. Stupid/ ignorant people vote. Term limits would stop those people from continually sending the same corrupt bastards back to office. It's time.

So it is safe to say you have never voted for an incumbent?

The States would have representation in Congress again, as the Founders intended.

They are elections

So true. That's why Trump, a weak, ineffective president will be "term limited" in 2020, if he doesn't resign, or isn't impeached, before then.

There's no way Trump will survive a campaign vs a moderate, mainstream Democrat, a Kamala Harris, or Corey Booker.
