Serious question, what hollywood movie is not all of this? I mean seriously? The Patriot is not a documentary anymore than Dunkirk, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, The Deer Hunter, etc.
Everything you stated, all the movies above have additionally.
So apparently you just don't like movies that are based on past events?
you are desperately talking out of your arse. It has nothing to do with fact vs fiction, that's not my point. The Patriot was not well made. It's unintentionally campy. All of the other movies you just named received critical acclaim and won or were nominated for a host of awards. The Patriot received no critical acclaim and received no accolades whatsoever, for good reason.

Pretty much this. I mean, a ton of movies screw up history unintentionally or intentionally. I mean, how sanitized was the Powhattan character in Pocahontas. Dude was a conqueror of other tribes and I'm pretty sure he was also an enslaver of other Native Americans as well. But he comes across as just the opposite in the movie. That always stuck in my craw a bit.
It's just that The Patriot wasn't good (IMHO).

Yes, it was.

Who said it's unintentional?

The Patriot was actually nominated for 3 Academy Awards (Cinematography, Original Score, and Sound Mixing). And it's actually only six points lower than The Avengers on Metacritic. It received decent reviews upon its release. Just don't use the film in history class when you are discussing the Revolutionary War.
