Bought my FIL the covert black ops Verizon and like the reviews online it eats up batteries, like 2 weeks maybe on a new set and that's with at best average amount of pics
I have 2 that did the same thing. I called them and the cameras come setup to send pics everytime it takes a picture which means its constantly hitting the cell tower and drain the battery. I set mine up to send every 4 hours and the batteries last about 3 months now.
Also buy enloop rechargeable batteries. They last longer than store bought AA and you can add a solar rechargeable to your unit if you want.

What ever service works at you place.
Then get one that takes external power.
Then buy a 12v to 6v converter and put a deep cycleconnected to a solar panel and it last for a few months.

Great tip I'll let him know, thank you. Covert cameras are generally known for very good battery life and he gets pretty good signal so that tip makes sense. Not much need to literally have pictures asap.
