Do you have a general route picked out, and how long do you have? How big is the motorhome, are you taking a "runabout" car as well, and how comfortable are you driving the motorhome?
I would say for sure stop in Gettysburg. From there you can either head directly to DC, or go to Baltimore and then to DC. Technically you could even go over to Philly and then head down 95 to DC.
If you leave Gettysburg and go down through Frederick, MD and into DC, you could also detour to the south and west a bit and hit Harpers Ferry and/or Antietam.

If you are renting one of those rv America type of RV's just know that they are underpowered so your highway speed will be Max'd about 70 and they don't do hills/ mountains well. It will not be a problem just know that ahead of time you will be slower than a car.
