I finally got a chance to watch it so I figured why not dredge up this old thread. I know there was some talk about the show in the Anybody Else Not a Fan of Seth McFarland thread but it was mixed in with a lot of stuff on McFarland in general.
I went into Ep. 1 with pretty low expectations. The reviews I read and the takes on that thread were mostly negative.
But overall I thought it was worth giving it a few more episodes.
Some of the acting was really bad. Mostly the admiral and the black navigator guy. McFarland himself wasn't very good either. But I found the rest of the crew were from ok to pretty good.
The writing wasn't sterling, especially towards the beginning but as the episode went on it got better. Hopefully that's a good sign.
I didn't care for the "twist" at the end and thought it was unnecessary. But it didn't affect the show for me.

When I saw the previews I thought "Galaxy Quest the TV Show". If those are your expectations does it live up to that?

I finally watched it last night. I'll definitely watch the next episode or two, at least.
It is amazing this got approved by the network. It does seem custom made for a small audience, but some of us might fit into that small audience.
