It's not 1982. Nobody is getting "fricked" at a car dealership anymore. The industry has been sufficiently regulated as to put an end to most of that nonsense. Most dealers I know are legit hard working businessmen that have a ton of capital at risk and make a very modest 2-3% net on gross sales. It's a tough way to make a living.

And Lawyers only make $118k... Gotta love averages

Not when it is a customer who never should have had the opportunity to purchase the car, and they got bought simply bc the salesman or sales manager juiced the frick out of their income and forged the poi when the finance company stipped the customer. That customer has no leverage, bc they are still shocked that they can actually buy the sweet car that they've always wanted. That unsophisticated buyer isn't wise enough to say no to a purchase that consumes 75% of their monthly income. The greed and illegal practice is helping them dig themselves into a deeper hole.

Furthermore, you cannot say that it is rare that dealer's misrepresent or suppress the truth in order to give themselves an advantage over the customer. Have you ever seen a salesman walk in and say, "great news, Bob. We got you financed with Cap One at 4.8%. Well, we actually got you financed at 2.8%, but Cap One let's us add 2% to your rate and kicks back money to us."

With that type of transparency, your argument that any agreed upon price is a fair deal for both parties holds more water. When you misrepresent or suppress the truth in order to gain an advantage in negotiations, it isn't a fair deal. That shite is called fraud.
