Maybe none of this comes to light if Freeze is hired at UF in 2015.

The NCAA violations at Ole Miss would have occurred under Freeze, but with him being at UF, maybe the desire to pin everything on Houston Nutt isn't as great. If Nutt doesn't take legal action, then Freeze's phone records may not have come under scrutiny. If the phone records don't come under scrutiny, the fact that Freeze was calling "pros" may not have ever come out.

The line to replace Nutt at Ole Miss wasn't long. Freeze wanted the job and was clearly ok with the boosters' desire to "bend the rules" to field a winner. Freeze was the right man at the right time for what Ole Miss wanted to do. They sold their soul to the devil to get back to football glory and EVERYONE knew it. It was one of the least transparent instances of cheating in the last 20 years. Ole Miss mostly got what it wanted on the field. Now the bill is due, with interest

Freeze might not have needed to resort to cheating at UF.
