I'd prefer the Payne Stewart route. Just fall asleep and cruise around for a couple hours.

Helios Air had an airliner that did the same thing.
Everyone conked out except for a flight attendant. Two F 16s sent out by the Greeks saw the guy, who waved at them shortly before the plane ran out of fuel and crashed.
