If you look at the data I bet that the 4% that do survive that long are females.

It makes no difference. GBM's are nasty, and literally monster-like. They contain many types of different cells that reproduce quickly, and have a complex system of blood vessels. They are impossible to completely remove, because even after the neoplasm is extracted, GBM's have tentacles that reach deep into the sensitive white matter of the brain. Any excavation is temporary.

I'm by no means an expert here, but I know someone that lost her struggle with a chemo treated GBM recently, and she was much younger than McCain. If I were McCain, I would try one of the clinical trial alternatives...anything else. Even if the research is inconclusive. You're thinking quality of life here.

Females don't have as much brain to infect, which leads to shallower roots. Much easier to remove
