Met Sahvanna Jacquish at Scrap Yard north of Houston today

Brought my 13U Elite baseball team to Scrap Yard for a tournament today and her pro team, Chicago Bandits, were hitting in the cage next to us. When she finished hitting and started walking to the field I went and talked to her. She was really nice and stayed under the stands (rain was pouring down) talking to me for about five minutes. Asked her if Bianca Bell gave her grief about not breaking her HR record - she said of course. She admitted that teams pitching around her was very frustrating. You just never know where or when you might run into an LSU Tiger.

Landry had an amazing play the other night. She's been killing it this summer. Has more homeruns already than she did all of last year.

not surprised by this.
Too many times they took the bat out of her hands. Yes she was great at the drag bunt but IMO she was too good of a pure hitter to do this all of the time.

I didn't mind her slapping at all, although if she did swing away more she would have more homeruns. It is a bit difficult to slap a homerun though it can be done. She swings away a lot more now. She has a lot more power than what people realize. She bats 3rd for the chargers.

I didn't mind it and I get it. She runs like a deer and might be the fastest Tiger ever. But most of the time players with this ability are not as good of a hitter as she is. I get leading off the game or inning with the slap bunt. I just felt she should have been allowed to swing away much more often. Obviously not the same power but as a hitter she was just as good as Jaquish IMO.
