Is Adrian Beltre the most underrated baseball player ever?

He will finish his career with 3,000 hits and 500 homeruns.
5 gold gloves, 6 top 10 mvp seasons and only 4 all star appearances in a 20 year career.
Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray, Rafael Palmeiro, and Alex Rodriguez are the only players in the 3000 hit 500 hr club.

When you play for 10 different teams..

Maybe so. I'd also bet money he used PEDs, but nobody ever talks about it.

Two very similar careers

I remember when he was an overhyped bust. Then he went crazy in 2004, hit 40 HRs, and got a huge contract with Seattle and became a bust again.
Obviously if/when he goes into the Hall it'll be as a Ranger.

Yes he is highly underrated. He has an ability to make everything he is doing look very easy because he plays so smoothly. Definitely taken for granted

I think playing for a team without much of a national following hurts him in that regard. I can't wait to see him break 3K

Ya he had too many weird seasons hitting early in his career. Defense has always played

Murray is a great answer he was top 5 in the MVP voting for 5 consecutive seasons, finishing 2nd twice. His whole reputation changes if he wins one of those. Despite having that kind of dominant peak in which he was seen as the best player in baseball, a lot of younger fans view him as a "compiler:".
Guys who do lots of things very well but not one thing great are the guys who get underrated. Mainly because they don't lead the league in anything or don't rack up awards, but they are just as effective or moreso than those who do. It's the Bobby Grich problem. Alan Trammel also has a good case because he was overshadowed by Cal.

He is one of five players in MLB history to have 3,000 hits and 500 homeruns and I bet most people have never heard of him.

I actually think Palmeiro is extremely underrated. Despite his juicing. And what Sammy Sosa did for about 5 years is utterly amazing. Again, despite the juice. He's got like 3 of the best 10 non-Bonds offensive seasons of all-time.

Don't known about most underrated ever but he is up there. He's my favorite Rangers player ever. Hope he goes into HOF as a Ranger.

He has too, I mean he has played more years for the Rangers than he did for the Dodgers and Mariners correct? I know Boston is out after only 1 season.
