Will take maybe 10 years to melt, but add 0.1mm to ocean levels!
thats because its floating ice, its already displaced its water content and now we all know you are smart enough to grasp that concept with your sarcastic ohnoz
but but I thought Anarctica was making ice on records pace just recently according to you deniers on here.
btw this might be the largest iceberg in the entirety of human history.

Are you melting over something melting?

What are you bent out of shape about?
Large chunks of ice have always broken away from Antarctica. Where do you think icebergs in that part of the Earth come from?
Is it a big chunk? Yes, but so what? More ice will form, a new shelf will be created, and eventually that shelf will collapse under its own weight just like this one.

Not a denier but that's one of the reasons scientists believe it broke off. That added weight

I bet at least some of those ancient Antarctic civilizations saw bigger.

What conlusions have you drawn regarding the overall ice volume of Antarctica, based on the actions of one singular ice shelf?

It broke off, which shows you know nothing about sea ice.

Umm..Einstein...it is gaining record ice. Ice is heavy and changes weight dynamics. A chunk broke off. This has been happening forever.

While I'm not saying this is the case in this instance, icebergs calve from their original source more often during times of sheet growth and cooling.

Wut? Humans have been recording the size of icebergs since the beginning of.. humans? You're not even good at making stuff up.

To this entire post: WHO CARES? YOU AND I WILL BE LONG GONE BEFORE THERE IS ANY REAL EFFECT ON HUMANS FROM GLOBLAL WARMING. (if you believe in that thing).
What the earth is like 100+ years from now is of no consequence to me.
That's the brutal honest truth.
I just live my life. Drive the vehicle I want, run the AC like I want, leave the lights on if I want, fly in planes etc.
About all I don't do is litter. And that's because I can see the direct effects on my environment when it's done.
