Has Anyone On The Board Ever Gone To Great Wolf Lodge In Grapevine, Tx?

If so, is it as shitty as it looks?
Long story short, I was asked if I wanted to go there with some family members for 5 days. It's one of those things were a while back people talked about going to a "get away" together, but after that no one really said anything, but then I get a text saying "hey so we are going to do out get away on this day - this day (5 days) at Great Wolf Lodge".
I never heard of "Great Wolf Lodge" until I received this text. I look it up and there is absolutely not one single thing there that would slightly interest me. No sports bar, etc. There will be a few kids on this trip and the mother of these kids took it upon herself to plan this trip and it is strictly a place for kids.. Or so it seems. While I understand going somewhere that has places to take kids, when you have other adults going you don't plan a whole fricking trip around the kids.
So. Does anyone know anything about this place?
More than likely I am not going to go, but other people were kind of "upset" about it but "didn't want to say anything", probably because they know I am going to say something, but is it reasonable to tell this person that no one else really wants to go there because she is the one with kids and they don't want to make a big deal about it? Or just tell her that I am not going and it isn't my fault she took it upon herself to book everything without talking with me first to see if I even wanted to go. And why the frick would she think it is a good idea to make plans that is strictly based around kids?

Five days is way way way too long. Two days max
Wait. Do you not have kids???? You only go if you have kids.
Go to Schlitterbaun if you don't have kids

It's not bad but 5 days is way too long. You'll have done everything 100 times in 2 days. We went during Mardi Gras so the crowd was light. It's not completely trashy but there is that element. Food is not good so go off grounds to eat.

Geez man, hang out by the pool and drink a few, do you need planned entertainment 24/7? I've been to the one in the Wisconsin Dells.

Just go and you and the other adults without kids go to some rangers game and hangout in DFW if this even happened. I don't believe you have friends though

5 days and you don't have kids? Da fuq? That will be miserable for you unless you have a rental car and can get the heck out of there 4.5 days.
Wife (no pics) and our 3 year old went for two days and that was a good time. Mostly because he had a blast and we enjoyed the time with him. Not sure what the hell youre gonna do tho

5 days is way to long. We went there for 2 days and spent 1 at the DFW zoo. If you don't have kids dont go.

Five days with kids is way too long. It's not Disney world
They have like 4 slides. A small lazy river and a wave pool.
There's other stuff to do but after two days you've done it all

I am not one to just hang around and take it easy for a large period of time. I like to be doing something. Anytime I go places with friends, when we are not doing something, we are playing cards or depending on the time of year, watching sports and making bets among each other, etc.

Just went there last month. Not "strictly" for kids but heavily for them.
Lots of alcohol available there, adult restaurants, etc, but you are going to be dealing with kids all over the damn place between the water park and them roaming the halls to do "quests".

Yeah.. Well like I said, this person made these plans and then texted me as if she assumed I was going no matter what to tell me we are going to this place for 5 days. More than likely, in fact, I am 99.9% sure I am not going, but that is based on everything I have read/looked up. There isn't one thing there that interest me. If I were to go, I might as well just go stay in Dallas.

What is this shite? Like a treasure hunt or something?

The kids buy wands at a shop which can be waved in front of stuff.
Idea is that you basically go to all the places on a list which bounces you all over the hotel and allows you to unlock "runes" which allow you to battle video dragons and shite.

You should never go if you don't have kids. My wife took our daughter with a friend and her kid. She will never, ever go back.

You wife will not go back or her friend? Even having kids with them, what did they not like?
