I'm not sold on Asheville specifically. Just somewhere in that general vicinity. I'll bring my wife in October, she'll love it and then I'll go from there. She's actually pretty laid back for a woman

I'm actually ok with cold but she's not. I've lived in NYC and Washington.

Asheville is a great city. If you're also just thinking that general area, I'm a big fan of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area.

October is fantastic in wnc. You'll get her there for sure after that trip. But a few weeks later, it's miserable. And unlike Denver or Boulder, there's no snow to have any winter outdoor activities. It's just cold and windy.
