I agree that point guard is a very important position, but is it as important as getting a legit 3 point shooter for this specific Denver Nuggets style of offense we are supposedly running?

With Cousins and AD controlling the ball large portions of the game I just don't see the need to go out and sign a Jrue Holiday to a 22-25 million dollar a year contract, or a Kyle Lowry at that whos 31 years of age.

I am not advocating to going out and paying Danilo Gallinari 20 million a year, but what I am saying is we really need shooters, or an elite 3 point shooter to really make this offense work.

We may have to go find that guy through a trade since this FA class is lacking shooters. I also looked at a list of 2018 free agents and nobody really stood out besides Will Barton and Rodney Hood.

So does anybody agree with my opinion that the Pelicans absolutely should not overpay a Holiday or another pg but instead go after a starting guard/wing if not this summer then next summer.

Nice plan but sadly Dell is on the overpay the Holiday brothers bandwagon.

It's more than just getting people that can hit the 3 though. Cunningham shot 39% from 3 but never drew much attention from the defense. Even Eric Gordon was left open a lot as a Pel. But you know who wasn't? Buddy. He had a reputation AND they ran his arse all over the court on offense. That's what the team needs to try and get, not a stand in the corner shooter but a run all over the court shooter.

I think we will improve 3 point shooting internally and try to bring in Jodie Meeks. Etwaun had some nagging injuries last season. In his recent intevriew, he said his goal is to get above 40% this season. Hill improved, particularly from his spots. Jamelle McMillian said they are continuing to work with him on his follow through/bailing out to get back on defense and that he is improving. That is not the easiest thing to correct in season. So I see his numbers improving.

Jodie Meeks is probably the best shooter for cheap available thanks to his injury history. McLemore and Young are 2 long, young guys with nice shots who may improve in a new situation. Regardless of whether Jrue signs or not, they will add shooters to the roster.

Quinn Cook has been ripping nets this offseason. But yeah. We need more outside scoring in a bad away.
