my experience is that yuuuuuuge pink floyd fans just haven't been exposed to other stuff. I am not saying Pink floyd doesn't have awesome stuff, they do! But they aren't the end all be all.

My two favorite PF albums are meddle and wish you were here.

DSOTM is a solid album, but give me the other two any day. Of course, you throw meddle on with yuuuuuugggeee pink floyds album and they aren't happy. They will listen to DSOTM, The Wall, momentary lapse of reason and MAYBE animals.

Is this some sort of pissing contest to determine who's the truest PF fan? You "Meddle is the GOAT" people seem to be more contentious to show your coolness for liking their earlier, pre-popular stuff than actual fans. How can I tell? By this pretentious statement of yours.

Here's your reality check: Piper to Meddle era is completely different to Dark Side to Division Bell. You basically have two different bands in sound. Early Floyd is a raw, acid sound; whereas, the post Syd Floyd is a grand, psychadelic sound.

My point is that one could absolutely be a yuuuuuuuuge Floyd fan and not really care for the pre DSOTM records. That does not make them any less of a fan. That would be like calling Metallica fans who dislike everything post Black Album not real fans.

Stop being a pretentious prick.

(as qualification of my post, Lucifer Sam is one of my favorite Floyd songs. Does that make me a "true fan" and grant me credibility? I sure hope so, sir! That would be swell!)

Oh, I was exposed to it alright. By the time Animals came out I owned their entire catalog, including the compilation A Nice Pair (I think my copy has a sticker over the boobs on the cover) and Relics. Still have them tucked away somewhere.
