What about the Florida runner who deliberately deviated from the base path to impede Freeman's throw to prevent a double play.
I don't know what "the book" says about that, but if he's not going to be called out for leaving the base path, then Slaughter's slide shouldn't have resulted in a run being removed from the scoreboard involving a runner who had no bearing on the play, and in which the slide didn't even prevent a double play.
If the rules disagree, they need to be revised.

They seemed ok to me last night. Not perfect but ok. LSU lost this one fair and square.

My complaint lies more with the rule than the umpires. Still, I think it was a ticky-tacky call on the Slaughter slide, especially considering he didn't prevent the double-play.

Worst part for me was the strike zone. Moving all over the place for each different game. That being said, it was usually fair for both pitchers, just wish it had been more consistent.

I see instant replay being used more often on first and second bases in addition to checking out the fans in the bleachers...seems reasonable to me...

they need full scale replay in college baseball desperately.
not for regular games,
but I would agree on championship games....
or at least "X" number of challenges.

Explain to me how incorrectly assuming that two separate umpires who were both animated behind the plate and had similar 'wtf' strike zones at times is racist.
Not even close to the same mechanics. They didn't look alike in their "strike" calls. It is a joke bud...Racist because you assumed the black umps were the same person (we all look alike).

guy at 2nd left much to be desired, totally missed scenic route taken by UF player and used poor judgement on Slaughter's slide, followed the rule, fine, but have seen far worse dismissed..he lost his head in terms of game context and believe he bit on a wonderful sell job by UF's shortstop....doesn't excuse Slaughter and if one expects him to think then so should the umpire and he failed, imv, as we simply witnessed hard baseball play...LSU should have never allowed that game to be that close to have such a debate arise....rules, I got it, but judgement is in there somewhere...always is, just not always as obvious.

They all should be fired, every stinking one and start over,

College baseball umpiring has historically been terrible.
The CWS is no exception.
It is what it is.

I thought the home plate umpires were pretty terrible. I saw many pitches called a ball and then the exact same pitch called a strike a couple pitches later and visa-versa. Very inconsistent strike zone.
Hell, there were replays from the ump cam where the ball passed over the batters box chalk line and were called strikes.
It's hard enough to hit good pitching, and damn near impossible when the ump is giving them strikes 6 inches off the plate.
I'm not saying the calls were the reason we lost, but it certainly didn't help our batters.

OSU had a gripe, we didn't. The interference call was correct. The zone sucked both ways

Was the kid from Arkansas that flipped our 2nd baseman up over his head in SEC tournament a similar call. I am not sure I understood it, the 2nd baseman got 2 outs? Just wanting to know I thought call was stupid

Homeplate umpiring - Very inconsistent.....pitches on the frickin white line of batter's box being called a strike.

We need full replay and digital strike zone.
Full replay i agree with. But frick a digital strikezone. Pitchers and hitters adapting to each umps strikezone is a huge part of the game. That needs to stay

If these were the best the NCAA has to offer
