Talked to Cedric Donaldson and Ed Reed

Every year I attend the Louisiana Sports Hall of Game Banquet in Natchitoches. Last night I spoke with Cedric Donaldson who returned a key interception for a touchdown the night LSU beat top ranked Florida, 28-21. We got on the subject of Gerry Dibardo. He told me that Dibardo would be all over the place l. He could be in a good mood or then turn in the next instant.
He said after they beat Florida, the next week the team tightened up against Ole Miss and lost and that was essentially the end of Carl Reese who was replaced by Lou Tepper before the bowl game rematch against Notre Dame. He said Tepper was perfect for going against Notre Dame, but was not made for the SEC.
Ed Reed, who was an All American at Miami and later an All Pro with the Baltimore Ravens, was around and said that he was 50/50 on LSU and Miami but his one on one with Dinardo was bad.

I thought I would share information from actual sources who were there and exoerienced it, but a bunch of tigerdroppings posters exhibit typical behavior. To those who like my story ..., Thank you

Reese was hired away by Mack Brown when Brown went to Texas for a sizable raise

Fire Dinardo

That is correct but the die was cast and it set in motion, Reese deciding to move in and illustrates how difficult it was to work with Dinardo. It always good get insight into what hapoened through the players eyes.
This also illustrates how important the head coach and his assistants are to the success of a program and that you can't do it with just players.
This also helps me to understand better why Miles was so bad for LSU his last 2-3 years, especially after January 9, 2012.

I think Donaldson posts here. The secondary put in some work in that 97 game against what was a fearsome Florida receiving corps.
Thanks for sharing. Love hearing directly from players

Reese worked for DiNardo at Vandy and came with him to LSU so maybe he left because DiNardo was hard to work for or maybe he left because tight arse Joe Dean wouldn't pony up on improvements to the program like paying good assistants

Carl Reese was a good defensive coordinator. We always had good defense under him until he left for Texas for more money. I know booger McFarland hated and still hates dinardo till this day and he talked about that on off the bench morning show.
