Are you really that fricking stupid? The view straight down the line, it all lines up. This is one of the dumbest questions I've ever seen an LSU fan post and that is saying a lot.

And yet, the umps and OSU coaches, particularly the ones that could actually see down the 3rd base line, got it wrong.

So it really was a foul ball?

Or is it fair below the top of the wall and foul had it cleared the wall? It's clearly left of the pole.

Is this what you do? Look like a fool so pretend like whoever you're speaking with is "mad" or "upset" to distract from your idiocy? Does that work often for you?

Not today, no. It was at 2. Sometimes.

It's astonishing that people think a week into the tournament, nobody noticed the line on the wall wasn't lined up with the pole.

Nah I was trying to not provoke you anymore and make a joke. I didn't do anything to look like an idiot pal. But hey, you post a lot in baseball threads so you know a lot about baseball and that is super awesome.

You are a loser that is trying to hard.

You starting talking about rules in a thread where the OP is only talking about misunderstanding a camera angle.

Okay, friend.

Playing and coaching is what makes me know a lot about baseball. My wife is why I'm super awesome. Posting in baseball threads makes me a dick because by this time of year 90% of posts are from people like you and the OP.

Are you sure it's 10"? Did you get a chance to measure it between games? I thought it looked around 8 to 9 inches left of the foul pole, but I can't be certain because of the severe angle between my television set and left field of TD Ameritrade Park. And of course because I live 1800 miles NorthWest of the ball park.

I'd say that missed call just about makes up for the two different strike zones that ump had for each team, and saying that Slaughter leaned into a pitch that hit his legs in the 9th.

No way. The fricking home plate ump made at least 15 "make up calls" the rest of the game. Dude deserves to be kicked square in the nuts after that shitshow.

It's not that dumb a question. I was in my pickup for the start of the game and didn't get back home to a TV until just after this fiasco. The very first image I saw of it (yeah - they were still talking about it 3 innings later) was of the view from the skewed angle - and I was like "WTF? - why is there an offset in the foul line?."

But it did only take a few seconds to realize the 'offset' was due to the camera angle.

So the question was premature - not stupid.

The foul pole is also the an extension of the foul line. Same rules should apply to both pieces.

Watching the game after that play, I kept asking myself why the announcers didn't comment that much about the PP7 interception against Bama, or the 3 missed holding calls on their "touchdown" from last year.

The fence isn't right up against the pole
adds to the whole shitty true line debate that padding off the fence to the foul pole is not a true linear line
