Before today, you had to reasonably assume besting a 4 loss team twice in two days was improbable. Now we're down to one game, one win.

One team has played ridiculous competition, including the team likely to come out on the other side of the bracket. They have faced adversity, including some... ahem... doubts, from their own fans. They got kicked in the teeth from a team who almost never loses just 4 days ago.

The other team cruised all season. They cruised in their regional, and in the super. They cruised in their first two games on the biggest stage in college baseball, including against a team that was as hot as could be at the time.

One took a kick in the teeth and went 2-0 to get to where they are right now, staving off elimination against a juggernaut. The other just felt what they've only felt four other times in the last four months, on that grand stage.

One game to get to a 3 game series for the prize. No records matter at this point, only the momentum that has carried you to this point, and the adversity that has been beaten down to get to this point.

From the most biased corner of my heart, I love where the Tigers are right now. On a now equal playing field, I love the road it took to get here, and I love our chances.

I have a feeling this will be a typical LSU game three game where we just put it on them. Aka Uc Irvine and Texas game three

It's funny how the rant's attitude changes after two games. Monday night, we "weren't going to beat FSU."
Some fans I just don't get.

It's going to take a Herculean pitching effort from some unsung guys though

OSU hasn't faced adversity all year... they've never had to claw their way to earn anything... it will be interesting to see how they handle the pressure

I posted this earlier today, but teams who force the if necassry game in the semis are 8-6 since 2000. The momentum definitely shifts if you can get the first one.

Teams that come through the loser's bracket and make the finals are almost always scrappy, chip-on-their-shoulder teams. Teams that didn't even host a regional e.g. 2016 Coastal, 2016 Arizona, 2007 Oregon State.

To me, LSU is not that type of team. If we were going to come out of the loser's bracket, it was ALWAYS going to be because of Poche and Lange. They were going to have to shove and carry us to Saturday.

They did just that. Now it's up to the rest of the team to win one game without them.

The national seed SEC regular season and tournament champion coming out of the losers bracket to make the CWS final is the biggest upset in the CWS?

I don't care how good OSU's record is, LSU isn't in some David vs Goliath situation. Both teams are Goliaths in this scenario.

There is a 100% chance that a team LSU played during the regular season will be in the championship series.

I can guarantee you they're already starting to think about it. How embarrassing it would be to go home empty-handed to Corvallis with a 56-6 record.

I've seen similar teams tighten up in this situation. Used to routinely happen to Clemson in the 90s.

Yep, definitely didn't think about that.

The beavers took that hit in the mouth and folded like a cheap suit!
