Seems like a waste but I like what Harris county has done with power boxes

They have been doing that for years in New Orleans. Usually some artist in the neighborhood does it.

Have them in Vancouver and I thought it was pretty cool.

Keeps bigots out the area and allowed me to shop for some sweet furniture deals and locate all the quality food places without yelp.

Say what you want about the Gays, they have beat the system. Tons of disposable income and don't have kids ruining my meal.

I don't necessarily have a problem with it either, but where are the heterosexual crosswalks at? Why does there need to be crosswalks celebrating homosexuality?

Painting crosswalks = being honored

They recently went through and painted all the red light communication boxes. Looks better. I'm not sure those are considered honors.

If it attracts gay tourist money I am all for throwing some paint on the street.

Like i said in other thread about this type of shite(hipsters/etc)

If you want your city saved, you need these people gentrifying these cities and pushing the shite heads out.

Just take a look at NY, and how the cleaned up the Bronx and other former shite holes. They even got rid of the Warriors, Orphans, Baseball Furies, and Gramercy Riffs.

Let them have rainbow cross walks, who gives a frick.

Yep. If you live in actual orleans parish, and a bunch of gays start buying properties next to you, go over and say thank you for your future sale on your house

Your right. Painting red lights is exactly the same thing. Thanks for clearing that up.

I oppose it because it is just flat out dumb

And the

"Why does it bother you?" Argument is pure horse shite

It doesn't "bother me". Stop virtue signaling. We get it. You're SO accepting and loving of everyone! You're SUCH a better human than I.

It's just dumb. Congratulations you continue to cry to be treated equally and have made great strides in garnering the same civil rights as other Americans.

But I don't want to support people's habits of making the CRUX of their identity who they choose to frick.

And it's not worth "honoring"

It's the most ridiculous thing. "Let's honor people for who they're attracted to".

The existing paint colors are just fine. Sexualities don't need painted crosswalks.

But I'd heard the bufu community didn't want any special considerations.....that they wanted to be treated like everybody else. Strange.

That was kind of forced on to them. Family and friends will literally judge them solely on being gay

Ok, Let them pay for the paint and the labor. New Orleans is a third world country when it comes to the streets. City funding should not be used to paint sidewalks for people to feel good about themselves. The same goes for the statues taken down. How was that monetary expenditure justifiable considering the current state of New Orleans infrastructure?

There is enough "Look at Me, I'm Different" b.s. in this country as is....
