Why would a team ready to hit the reset button want Holiday? The deal to make for Paul George is a mortgage the future deal like Brooklyn made for Paul Pierce and KG. If it works out you're a contender. If it fails you're the worst team in the league for a few years before you can even start collecting high picks to rebuild.

IIRC Brooklyn traded 3 future 1sts and a pick swap. A similar deal for George would be 2018 + 2020 picks, a 2019 pick swap and then one of Diallo or 2022 1sts. But if it looks like we're going after PG-13 you have to think there's a chance the Lakers enter the mix and they have enough young assets to beat anything the Pels could offer.

That is WAY too much. Paul's agent tanked his trade value. He wants to go to LA. You are buying a one year rental. He is not going to fetch much at all because it is basically contenders bidding for a rental. LA already said they aren't going to give up real assets to get him this year.

Personally I don't know if I really want George in AD's ear for a year talking about LA even if it gets us into 2nd round.
