Oh, now I agree with that. Never understood people videoing entire concerts or something. But videoing a concert or event the entire time is different than snapping a photo on vacation.

It just isn't that black or white.

I remember my parents carrying their massive camcorder on vacations as a kid. We have literal hours upon hours of video footage, where clearly one of them had their eyeball in the lens for days. We have videos at home of me just playing in my room or eating some crackers or some shite.

I won't argue that social media made this even more common, but some people are just weirdos and document everything.

To be clear, I'm not saying that everyone at concerts or restaurants is doing so for social media. I'm saying that is definitely the case for some people.

Nobody is saying every single person does things solely for social media.

No I don't think people intentionally go to nice restaurants or concerts simply to snap a photo. But some are so consumed by it they will spend a large portion of it behind a screen and worrying about how it will look to others as opposed to actually fully enjoying the moment.
